About The Walker Company

The Walker Company has been around since 1933, and we, like the construction industry, have undergone drastic change since then. Diversification has been a key to our success. We began with one limestone quarry and now operate three quarries and also produce other manufactured materials in addition to constructing highways and bridges – the core work on which we built our reputation. In 1990, our company became more diverse by offering building construction services.

The company employs approximately 300 people from 12 Kentucky counties during a typical construction season. These employees work in one of our three operating divisions or in a supporting department, such as equipment fleet management, customer service and administration.

Four generations of Walkers have worked to make The Walker Company the best it can be by finding the competitive edge while ensuring customer satisfaction and quality. There's one thing we've learned through years of experience: things change; quality stays the same.

Our Mission

From its inception, The Walker Company has remained a family-owned and operated company with the fourth generation of Walkers now involved in the operation of the company. The Walker's founding mission remains in effect today:

"To provide the customer with a product of the highest quality in the timeliest manner employing local people while maintaining corporate integrity and profitability."
