Cave
Run Stone Receives Reclamation Award
| Carl Campbell, Commissioner
of the Department for Surface Mining Reclamation and
Enforcement, presented a 2001 Commissioner's Award of
Excellence in Reclamation to Cave Run Stone, LLC for
outstanding reclamation work at their Debbie Hill
limestone quarry operation located 12 miles northwest of
West Liberty in Morgan County. The company, as part of
their ongoing mining and reclamation activities, have
corrected a number of environmental and safety problems
that existed prior to acquisition of the facility. Cave
Run Stone has also indicated that they plan to create a
variety of different habitats through their revegetation
efforts. This increase in habitat diversity will provide
for significantly greater use of the area by the local
wildlife populations. |
